ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Kendra Pothier, a talented illustrator and fine artist, born and raised in Idaho. My art spans a wide range of subjects and themes, each designed to evoke distinct emotions and reflections on the human condition. I invest time and care in planning and designing each piece, drawing inspiration from nature, portraiture, emotions, and color theory. Most of my work comes to life through the delicate strokes of watercolors on paper and the vibrant hues of oil on canvas.
My artistic vision is profoundly influenced by the splendor of the natural world. I weave elements of florals, trees, and captivating individuals into my creations. I believe in the power of beauty. Beauty is not merely about aesthetics; it carries the power to teach us profound truths about ourselves. While beauty is subjective to each individual, it offers more than meets the eye. To me, it signifies harmony, symmetry, order, complexity, and exquisite balance.
These qualities are essential in life, prompting self-reflection and a deeper understanding of our relationship with the world around us.

BIO
Art has always been the driving force in my life. What began as a simple hobby evolved into an compelling indispensable part of my being. A gift from God that was born at the age of thirteen when I lost my older sister. Creating art became my sanctuary, a crucial solace during my teenage years, I battled depression and felt adrift, unaware of my purpose. Seeking direction, I pursued college, but amidst the chaos of juggling two jobs and full-time studies, I neglected my art. Eventually, I dropped out, returning to my roots.
I immersed myself in the mountains, exploring forests and delving into philosophy, finding peace within. This newfound serenity rekindled my passion for painting. I picked up my paintbrush and started afresh, rediscovering the fundamentals of my craft. With unwavering dedication, I honed my skills in watercolor and oil paints, embracing the challenges of being a self-taught artist. This journey demanded immense effort, but every moment was infused with love and determination.
Rediscovering my passion inspired me to pursue art as a career. My family has been my steadfast support, and I owe them everything. I create because it’s my calling; I believe it’s my purpose in life to connect with others through the art I create.
Thank you for joining me on this creative journey.
Warm regards,
Kendra Pothier
